I recently leased a new vehicle from Precision Acura in Princeton. Overall, I was very pleased with the experience and would certainly recommend this dealership to others. Below is a summary of my experience.Initial ContactMy first contact with the dealership was with Carolynn in the internet sales department. If you're shopping for a vehicle, this will be the biggest difference you notice versus other Acura dealerships in the area and was quite honestly what led me to ultimately purchase from Precision Acura. Every other Acura dealership within a 50 mile radius refused to talk specifics over email. I personally think that is a big mistake. Prospective buyers now have more information available from online resources than ever before and yet our time is more valuable than ever. Those two forces mean I would never consider walking into a dealership without researching the vehicle, understanding what others had paid and beginning the fact finding and negotiating process with any perspective dealership online. Carolynn at Precision Acura was the only representative to answer my emails promptly, provide all information I asked for, and never once demanded that I speak to her live or visit the dealership. As surprising as it may sound, this experience was unique as all other Acura dealerships would not discuss lease fees over email or even worse, claimed they didn't have the information I requested and that the information could only be obtained by visiting the dealership. Outrageous.Thank you to Carolynn and the internet team for being courteous and providing timely information to help me make an informed car buying decision from the start.SalesAfter my fact-finding mission was over and I had decided to move forward with Precision Acura, I asked Carolynn to schedule an appointment for me with the sales department. I arrived at the dealership to find equally friendly and eager sales associates. I was introduced to Al and we began the dance! What I immediately appreciated about Al was that I told him that I was at least partially educated about auto leasing, having done it a half a dozen times before, and that I wanted to get right down to my numbers without all the drama that usually precede the negotiation process. He was understanding and we were immediately thrust into the part of the negotiations that takes place a few hours in at other dealerships.Look, I'm not naive enough to think I was able to negotiate the best deal ever on my car. I think I went in with good research and a good understanding of what others are paying for the same vehicle. I always say, if the dealership was willing to make the deal, there was still money left on the table. There's always little differences that make each deal unique, but I did a lot of research and I am comfortable that they are in the ballpark of some of the best prices I know others paid.I appreciate Al's ability to work quickly and cut through the normal back and forth I associate with buying a car. It was the most straight-forward and expedient purchases I've made to date. Al also has a nice personality and is easy to talk with.I did have the opportunity to talk with Eric, the sales manager, briefly. It seems like he still employs to the 'good cop/bad cop' methodology so I wasn't a huge fan and think this method is outdated but it wasn't enough to tarnish my experience. I literally only spoke to him for 60 seconds so the majority of the experience was with Al, who again was great to work with. Pick UpThe car was available earlier than promised and I was able to schedule a pick-up time where the car and paperwork were ready to go. Again, Al was a true professional taking me through the vehicle options and ensuring we were satisfied with the purchase. I need to make special mention of Derek in the finance department. He's the guy you see to sign your paperwork and normally one of the last steps I dread in the process. Not only was he quick but he didn't pressure me to add on lots of extras that I'll never need. If you have the pleasure of working with Derek at Precision Acura what you will really notice is his personality. Truly, one of the nicest people I've ever come across. He just has one of those personalities that can change your whole day for the positive. He has an infectious laugh and quick wit that really ended my experience at Precision Acura on a high note.Bottom LineIt's a business, they're there to make money, but in the end I thought everyone was professional, courteous, and easy to work with. I have yet to find a perfect car buying experience. It's still one of the most archaic and stressful processes that we go through as consumers (partially by design I'm sure). But Precision Acura did provide the best experience I've ever had and while I'm sure they made out better than I would have liked on price, I was pleased with the service and comfortable with the price I paid versus my objective when I walked in the door - so in the end I think that's all that matters.
